METHODOLOGY OF RESEARCH IN SYSTEMIC INFLAMMATION

E.Y. Gusev, L.N. Yurchenko, V.A. Chereshnev, N.V. Zotova

The systemic inflammation (SI) as a typical pathological process is formed of following phenomena: systemic inflammatory reaction, systemic alteration, emaciation of anti-inflammation resistance factors, distress-reaction of the neuroendocrine system, microthrombi formation. This circumstance predetermines a creation of rapid integral criteria to estimate SI development and to forecast critical complications. Suggested Integral Indices identify the principal levels of cytokinemia. It is expedient to determine concentrations of cortisol, troponin I, and markers of microthrombosis as the additional criteria. We have analyzed 36 clinical signs and laboratory factors of plasma as perspective criteria to estimate SI. (Cytokines and Inflammation. 2008. Vol. 7, No. 1. P. 15-23.)

Keywords: SIRS, systemic inflammation, cytokines, MODS.
