Comparative analysis of local and systemic concentrations of cytokines in patients with polypoid rhinosinusitis and deployed asthmatic triad

A.M. Lazareva, S.V. Smirnova, O.A. Kolenchukova

Asthmatic triad (AT) represents a combination of bronchial asthma, polypoid rhinosinusitis (PRS) and intolerance to non-narcotic analgesics and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. In the article, a comparative analysis of local and systemic concentrations of cytokines in PRS (n=68) and AT (n=42) is presented to establish markers of AT formation on the PRS background. The cytokine profile for PRS serum revealed: reduced concentration of IL-4, and increased concentrations of IL-6. In AT we revealed elevated concentrations of IL-4 and reduced concentrations of IL-6 and the increase in the concentration of TNFα in serum. Unidirectional changes in the concentration of cytokines (increased concentration of IFNγ and IL-2) in nasal swabs in PRS and AT characterize the deviation of immune response towards Th1 type. (Cytokines and Inflammation. 2017. Vol. 16. № 3. P. 45–47.).

Keywords: polypoid rhinosinusitis, asthma triad, cytokines.
