CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME AND IMMUNE DYSFUNCTION IN PATIENTS WITH RECURRENT VIRAL INFECTIONS: CLINICAL IMMUNOLOGIC CHARACTERISTIC AND FEATURES OF SEROTONIN REGULATION
The review summarizes some clinical and pathogenetical features of postinfectious chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) that results from viral infections and immune disorders. Literature and own data show the advisability of viral agent identification and the type of immune dysfunction detection in the assessment of its clinical features and pathogenesis for efficient therapy. The relationship between natural antiviral protective reactions abnormalities that accompany the development of CFS in the course of viral infections, and serotoninergic regulation defects (considering as one of CFS pathogenetic mechanism) was determined.
