Severe trauma causes immune-insufficiency, which is formed due to several factors: decrease of the number of immune competent cells, their functional abnormalities, imbalance of immune regulatory mechanisms. The review points out and discusses some facts about state of immune system after trauma. Information about PMN, monocytes, lymphocytes, humoral immunity, cytokines is presented.
