SERUM IL-1B, IL-6, TNFA AND IL-4 CYTOKINE CONTENT IN THE COURSE OF HERPETIC KERATITIS
V.B. Malhanov, Z.R. Marvanova, N.E. Shevchuk
Data are reported on the content of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines in blood serum of 67 patients with ophthalmoherpes. Severity of herpetic keratitis correlated with cytokine production. Epithelial keratitis is characterized by earlier increase in pro-inflammatory cytokines, stromal keratitis - by later and more intensive cytokine increase. (Cytokines and Inflammation. 2005. Vol. 4, ь 4. P. 50-53.)
