Anti-mullerian hormone: structure, signaling pathway and antineoplastic activity

A.Ia. Rak, A.V. Trofimov, A.V. Petrov, A.S. Simbirtsev, A.M. Ishchenko

The review deals with the fundamental properties of one of the TGFβ-superfamily cytokines — anti-mullerian hormone (AMH). This glycoprotein, the synthesis of which is detected during both the embryogenesis and adult life in mammals, is a reproductive system development and functioning regulator. In addition to studying many unknown issues of the AMH signaling pathway and the mechanisms of AMH action, in recent years the attention of researchers has been attracted to the antitumor activity of the recombinant AMH (rAMH), which, however, has not yet been studied well enough. (Cytokines and Inflammation. 2016. Vol. 15. № 3–4. P. 256–264.)

Keywords: anti-mullerian hormone, AMH, recombinant protein, antineoplastic activity.
