Role of cytokines in the development of chronic rhinosinusitis with polyps

E.L. Savlevich, A.S. Simbirtsev, G.P. Bondareva, O.M. Kurbacheva

A review of the current problems of cytokine regulation of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (PRS). PRS is a disease involving several factors or causes unknown etiology. Different cells of the nasal mucosa (epithelial cells, dendritic cells, mast cells, macrophages, T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, eosinophils) realize their proinflammatory opportunities via the release of inflammatory mediators. Intracellular communication and cooperation plays the important role in the development of chronic inflammatory process. Cytokines is a group of polypeptide mediators of cell-cell interactions involved in the processes of intracellular communication. Research is hold in order to study the role of the individual cytokines in the pathogenesis of the nasal polyposis. Chronic inflammation leads to the disruption of the collagenous framework with subsequent remodeling of the nasal mucous. (Cytokines and Inflammation. 2016. Vol. 15. № 3–4. P. 265–268.)

Keywords: chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyps, cytokines, remodeling, pathogenesis.
